Hisaka Continuous Immersion Concentrator (RES Series) is a specialized concentration system that utilizes an immersion heating method to efficiently concentrate high-viscosity liquids and semi-solid products. Unlike conventional evaporators that use plate or falling-film designs, the RES series immerses the product directly in a heated medium, enabling gentle and uniform concentration for products that are difficult to process with other evaporator types.
Direct immersion in heated medium ensures uniform heat distribution throughout the product. Ideal for high-viscosity liquids that cannot flow through plate or tube evaporators.
Automated continuous feed and discharge enables high-volume production without batch interruptions. Consistent concentration quality from start to finish.
Low-temperature concentration under vacuum conditions minimizes thermal damage to heat-sensitive products. Preserves flavor, color, and nutritional content.
Capable of concentrating products with high suspended solids, fibrous materials, or particulates that would clog conventional evaporators.
Vacuum operation lowers boiling point, reducing steam consumption. Vapor compression or multiple-effect configurations available for maximum energy savings.
Large access ports and smooth interior allow easy inspection and cleaning. CIP (Clean-in-Place) system available for automated washing cycles.
The RES operates through a continuous immersion concentration process:
Raw liquid is continuously fed into the concentration vessel through a controlled inlet system.
Vacuum system lowers the boiling point, enabling evaporation at reduced temperatures (40-70°C).
Product is immersed in a heated medium or heated through jacketed walls. Heat transfers uniformly throughout the viscous mass.
Water evaporates from the product surface. Vapor is separated and either condensed or recompressed for energy recovery.
Brix or viscosity sensors monitor concentration level. Feed rate and heating adjusted automatically to maintain target consistency.
Concentrated product is continuously discharged via pump or gravity. Ready for storage, packaging, or further processing.
Hisaka RES Series is ideal for products that cannot be handled by conventional evaporators:
Glucose syrup, maltose, honey, and starch syrups with high solid content and viscosity.
Tomato products with fibrous content and particulates that require gentle concentration.
Apple, mango, banana, and berry purees with suspended fruit fibers and solids.
Red bean paste, soybean paste, and other legume-based products for confectionery.
Adhesives, binders, and chemical slurries requiring controlled concentration.
Immersion method concentrates products that would clog or damage plate/tube evaporators.
Automated feed and discharge enable 24/7 operation with consistent quality output.
Vacuum operation at low temperatures preserves heat-sensitive flavors and nutrients.
Vapor recompression and heat recovery options reduce steam and cooling water consumption.
For R&D and product testing before full-scale production, Hisaka offers the Continuous Immersion Concentration Tester - a pilot-scale version of the RES system. This testing machine allows food manufacturers to validate concentration parameters, test product behavior, and optimize processing conditions before investing in full production equipment.
